“Blindness cuts you off from things…deafness cuts you off from people.”
-Helen Keller

Our mission is to assure and enhance the quality of life for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Speech Impaired individuals as well as promote and educate on Hearing Wellness.

Welcome to C.H.I.P.S. (Citrus Hearing Impaired Program Services). We are a non-profit agency for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, serving the counties of Citrus, Marion, Alachua, Levy, Hernando, Lake, and Sumter.   We offer a variety of services including interpreting, advocacy, information, referrals, sign language classes, and more.

We are a distribution center for FTRI (Florida Telecommunication Relay Service) FREE amplified phone program.

Risky Ears is a program to educate children on Hearing Wellness. Our program is geared toward school-age children and the importance of taking care of their hearing NOW. This is especially important in today’s world where the children seem to always be “plugged” into digital devices like MP players and game systems. Browse our Risky Ears kid-friendly section with your children.

Please feel free to browse through our website, email, call, and/or drop by the train cars to visit us.

Service Commitment

Citrus Hearing Impaired Program Services is committed to providing certified skilled Interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. All Interpreters are interviewed prior to each assignment to make sure that the skill level matches that of the client and the type of assignment. All of the Interpreters that work through this agency follow a code of ethics and supply this office with their credentials and liability insurance.
